Downfall of real estate agents taking their own photos
Listings with amateur looking photos can deter buyers / renters by inspecting the property due to the poor standard of the photos…For Listings that need to stand out from their competitors using a professional photographer is the only choice. If clients find out their listing was photographed by an agent trying to save money on professional marketing there maybe questions on the dedication to offer a professional service.
By not using a professional photographer you lose control on depth of field and correct prospectives / correct colour casts and sharpness also the composition you can run the risk of having over and under exposing images that cant be recovered even by sending them to an AI editing service.
Not using a high end camera will limited your lense choices ( Ultra wide lense etc ) can also intoduce distortion in the walls and furniture which can put off people.
For the small amount that is charged for professional photography it is not worth the risk and limitations and the damage it can cause for the agency.
